How the new Super 7 format works
The top three teams from each group advance, along with the better fourth-placed finisher across the two groups. Those seven teams then start the Super 7 with zero points carried over from the group stage. Each Super 7 team plays six matches between October 25 and November 14.
The ICC has pre-seeded India as A1, Australia as A2 and Pakistan as A3 to give fans a clearer view of potential venues. Those labels are not automatic qualification: if a seeded team fails to advance, the team that displaces it takes that Super 7 slot.
Could India play Pakistan twice?
Yes, if both qualify for the Super 7. The seeded schedule places A1 vs A3 in Cape Town on November 7, which would be India vs Pakistan if both teams advance into their expected slots. Their confirmed group-stage meeting is October 10 in Johannesburg.
Semi-finals and final
The top four teams in the Super 7 reach the semi-finals. First plays fourth and second plays third. The semi-finals are scheduled for November 17 in Cape Town and November 18 in Tshwane, with reserve days. The final is scheduled for November 21 in Johannesburg, with November 22 available as a reserve day.
What about tickets?
The ICC ticket ballot is open rather than operating on a first-come, first-served basis. ICC's tournament guide says entry-level prices start at US$9.62 (R158), with the highest listed tier at US$31.31 (R514). A ballot entry is an opportunity to buy tickets, not a guaranteed ticket.
