Star Wars: Galactic Racer launches worldwide today, October 6, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The PS5 listing and current launch guides point to a 9:00 UTC unlock, which is 2:30 PM IST, but players on Xbox or PC should use their storefront countdown if it differs rather than assuming every store unlocks at the same second.

What time does Galactic Racer release in India?
The PlayStation Store timing reported in current launch guides is 9:00 UTC on October 6, equal to 2:30 PM IST. Because storefront timing can differ, Newscow is treating 2:30 PM IST as the PS5 timing, not inventing a universal India unlock for Xbox and PC.
Is Galactic Racer coming to PS4, Xbox One or Nintendo Switch?
No version for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 is listed in the official launch announcement checked. The confirmed launch platforms are PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
What kind of Star Wars racing game is it?
Galactic Racer is a runs-based racing adventure set around the Outer Rim's Galactic League. In the solo campaign, players race as Shade and make route, vehicle and upgrade choices while trying to reach champion Kestar Bool. Crashing out of a tour sends the player back to regroup, while some perks and unlocks carry into later attempts.
The official story trailer also confirms Campaign, Scenario and Arcade modes, plus multiplayer podracing. Vehicles include landspeeders, skim speeders, speeder bikes and podracers rather than a single vehicle class.
Why this is not simply Episode I: Racer 2
The game deliberately brings Star Wars racing back, including Sebulba, but its structure is different from a straight remake or sequel to the 1999 racer. Fuse Games built the campaign around repeated runs, upgrade decisions, rivalries and several repulsorcraft classes.
Should you trust every 9 AM UTC countdown?
No. The October 6 date is firmly confirmed by Lucasfilm's official Star Wars site. The exact 9:00 UTC timing is strongest for the PS5 listing. If Steam, Epic or Xbox shows a different countdown for your account or region, use that storefront timer.
